Section 01
What Does the Free Pornhub Give You?
The free site gives you videos, categories, pornstar pages, photos and gifs, live cams and a community section, and it pays for all of it with ads. You need no account to start watching.
The ads are easy to spot on a video page: a pre-roll ad with a Skip Ad button before the video, banners beside the player and a strip of banners under it. The site also keeps a Remove Ads button on the player, which opens an upgrade box for its paid ad-free plan, PornhubX.
Quality isn't the catch. Free videos can offer 1080p, and the quality menu in the player lists every option for that video. That matters because HD alone is not what Premium sells. If you're deciding what to watch tonight rather than where, pick a scene by mood and minutes first.
Section 02
What Does Pornhub Premium Add?
Premium's own page puts VR and 2160p up front
Pornhub Premium adds a separate paid library of studio videos, no ads and higher formats such as 4K and VR. It lives on its own site, pornhubpremium.com, not inside the free one.
Here is what Pornhub's Premium join page says you get:
What the Join Page Promises
A paid library. The page says 300K+ videos, with scenes from studios such as Brazzers, Mofos, Digital Playground, Jays POV and Reality Kings.
No ads. "No Ads" is one of four selling points in Pornhub's home-page promo for Premium.
Higher formats. Full HD 1080p, 4K and VR videos, with VR scenes in 2160p.
DVD titles. Full-length DVD titles on demand, in HD.
These figures are Pornhub's own claims, not a count made by anyone else. If whole scenes are what you're after and you'd rather not pay yet, read how to find whole scenes in HD on free sites.
The Real Difference
Since free videos can already reach 1080p, Premium isn't mainly about HD. You pay for the studio library, the lack of ads and the 4K and VR formats.
Section 03
How Much Does Premium Cost, and Is the Free Week Free?
At the time of writing, Premium's join page offers a free 7-day week, then a monthly plan, plus a 12-month plan at a discount. You aren't charged during the free week.
Prices follow your country. The page opened from Spain showed €9.99 every 30 days after the free week, and €99.99 for 12 months, marked "Save 17%". Pornhub says its charges are in US dollars unless stated otherwise, so read your own amounts on the page before you type anything.
Before You Start the Free Week
It's for new subscribers. The terms say free trials are for new subscribers and that Pornhub decides who is eligible.
A hold may appear on your card. Pornhub can authorize your payment method for an amount close to the monthly fee when you register, which can lower your available balance or credit limit during the trial. You aren't charged the fee.
Billing starts by itself. Monthly billing begins when the trial ends unless you cancel first.
Payment options vary. The page opened from Spain listed SEPA direct debit and a Bitcoin option. The terms say the billing company on your statement depends on where you are.
The sign-up box asks for an email and a password, or lets you sign up with Google. Use an email address you're comfortable seeing on a receipt.
Section 04
Is PornhubX the Same as Premium?
PornhubX is the plan that only removes the ads
No: PornhubX is the ad-free version of the free site, while Premium is a separate site with its own paid library. The PornhubX page is headed "Remove Ads. No interruptions. Just Pornhub."
The page opened from Spain listed Monthly at €9.99 and Yearly at €99.99, marked "16.6% OFF". It shows no free week. The upgrade box on the free site, read from Spain, lists crypto and direct debit and says credit cards aren't accepted at the moment, so read the box before you plan on a card.
To cancel PornhubX, the page says you can do it anytime from your account settings or by contacting support. Your plan then stays active until the end of the billing period, and your account switches to the free service.
Section 05
Which Plan Gives You What?
This table puts the three ways to watch Pornhub side by side, using what each official page shows. Prices are the ones shown when the pages were opened from Spain, in euros.

If the only thing that bothers you is the ads, PornhubX is the plan built for that. If you want the studio scenes, Premium is the one that lists them. Both show the same prices in euros, so the choice is about content: the free site's user-uploaded videos without ads, or Premium's studio library.
Section 06
Is Pornhub Safe to Use?
Pornhub loads over https and names the company behind it, so the risks you manage yourself are its ads and your billing details. A few habits cover both.
Ads
Clicking the pre-roll ad opens the advertiser in a new tab while the Pornhub tab stays put. Use Skip Ad instead, and close any tab you didn't ask for. For a method that works on any porn site, see the 10-minute safety check.
Uploaders
Pornhub's terms say that before you can upload content, you must verify your identity with ID documents, checked by a third-party service. They also say uploads can be hashed to help identify illegal content, and that those hashes can be shared with law enforcement. That is the site describing its own rules, not an outside audit.
Billing
Pornhub's Premium FAQ says charges appear discreetly on your statement, without any mention of Pornhub. The terms list names that may appear, depending on where you are, including Toqon EU Ltd, Toqon LLC, Probiller.com, AyloBill, Vendo, Segpay, WTS and EPOCH. Learn those names so you recognize your own charge.
Pornhub also says that if a payment fails, it may charge an administration fee of up to $2.00 to keep your subscription active. Your own device is a separate matter, covered in what incognito mode does and does not hide.
Section 07
Where Is Pornhub Blocked, and Why?
Aylo, the company behind Pornhub, has restricted access in some countries over age-verification laws, and what you see depends on where you connect from. At the time of writing, its newsroom describes two cases.
In France, Aylo says it suspended access to Pornhub, YouPorn and Redtube, objecting to site-based age verification. In the UK, it says it stopped taking part in the age checks required by the Online Safety Act, then welcomed back age-confirmed iOS users once Apple's device-level check was available.
Aylo's argument is that entering sensitive personal information on each site is a privacy risk, and that phones, tablets and computers should verify age instead.
Know Before You Click
If Pornhub shows an age check or a block notice, the site is doing that on purpose; your device isn't broken. For Aylo's current position, read Aylo's newsroom, not a forum thread.
Section 08
How Do You Cancel Before You Are Billed?
You cancel Premium from your account on its site, or through support by chat, phone or email, and you do it before the free week ends. Pornhub's terms say you must cancel before the subscription renews to avoid the next charge.
Canceling Online
Log in on the Premium account page.
Click "Manage Account".
Click "cancel account".
If you can't cancel online, the terms list Premium support as the other way: live chat, phone or an email ticket, as listed on the support page.
What happens to the money
The terms say payments are non-refundable and there are no credits for partly used periods. For crypto payments, they say refund requests must come within 90 days and are decided at Pornhub's discretion, when technically possible.
If a charge looks wrong, contact support first. The terms say chargebacks are investigated and can block future purchases through Pornhub's payment providers.
Getting The Most Out Of It
Put a reminder in your calendar the day you start the free week, set for day six, and cancel then if you don't want the paid plan. A free week that renews by itself only costs you when you forget it.
Section 09
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Pornhub Premium free trial really free?
You aren't charged for the 7-day week, but your payment method is required and can be authorized for an amount close to the monthly fee. If you don't cancel, monthly billing starts when the trial ends.
Does Pornhub Premium have ads?
Pornhub's home-page promo for Premium lists "No Ads" as one of its four selling points. The free site, in contrast, shows ads on its video pages.
Is Premium worth it if free Pornhub already has HD?
It is if you want the studio library, no ads, 4K or VR. If you only want HD videos and can skip ads, the free site already offers 1080p.
Will Pornhub Premium show up on my bank statement?
Pornhub says charges appear without any mention of Pornhub. The terms list the billing names that may appear, depending on your location, so check them against your statement.
Can I get a refund?
The terms say payments are non-refundable and partly used periods aren't credited. Pornhub may still grant a refund or discount in a given case at its sole discretion.
Can Pornhub change the price?
Yes. The terms say it can adjust prices at any time, and that material price increases take effect after notice to you. Check your receipt for the amount you agreed to.
Section 10
Who Should Pay for Premium?
Yes, if you want studio-made scenes, no ads and 4K or VR, and you're happy to cancel on a calendar reminder if it isn't for you. The free week is the cheapest way to find out.
Who It's For
Pay for Premium if you watch studio scenes regularly and the ads break your evening. Pick PornhubX instead if the ads are the only problem.
Stay Free If
Stay on free Pornhub if user-uploaded videos in HD are enough and you can skip a pre-roll. Nothing is lost by waiting, and the free site is always one tab away.
Remember
The free week is free until it renews. Cancel before it ends if you don't want the paid plan.
HD isn't the upgrade. Free videos can reach 1080p; Premium adds studio scenes, no ads, 4K and VR.
PornhubX is the ad-free plan. Premium is a separate site with its own paid library.
Read the price on your own page. It changes with your country and can change over time.
